Just got the Linksys Wireless-G system hooked up and we are online!!!
What a trip! We took off yesterday after a short workday. We left Jacksonville around 5:00 pm under grey skies and a light rain. That lasted all the way through til we stopped at Florence, SC. We hit the bed pretty early and woke to the same grey clouds this morning. So, we packed up, grabbed a quick bite of breakfast in the overcrowded lobby and packed our clothes back into the overstuffed Jeep. The rain picked up and the temperatures dropped. By the time we reached NC there was snow all over and the rain turned to sleet. We decided to stop for awhile and poke around JR's Outlets. What a place!!!! As the billboard said "everything from brazziere's to chadeliers". And that was so true. The place was really a riot and we ended up getting 2 books on tape for a great deal.
As the sleet let up, we continued on Northward. The skies cleared. The temperatures rose. By the time we reached Virginia it was 52 degrees and beautiful blue skies! We arrived at Patti and Marshall's around 5:00 and are just getting settled in. Its such a blessing to have friends that are like family.

We just finished packing up the Jeep and we will head North on I-95 tomorrow after work. We went by Searchwood today and finished gathering odds and ends that we had left behind last week. Then drove out the driveway, down Searchwood and to Fort Caroline Road for the last time.
A great first house with many lasting memories.
So, tomorrow begins the next chapter in this journey. The page turns to a new location, a new job, new friends, new community and a new understanding of faith. We trust that God has his hand upon us and will guide and direct us.

Its been quite a week! Last weekend we got an offer on the house from the orignal people who had made an offer. We got to an agreement and now have a contract on 3233 Searchwood Drive. God is good! Tuesday morning we took the WRX by Subaru and they kindly bought the car from us at a fair trade-in value. Yesterday we moved all of the boxes and furniture from our house to Bert's house while we find a home in Virginia. It has been a busy and exciting week!
Last night we were heading to Neal and Jenny's for a nice dinner and came to find out that it was a Surprise party for us! It was incredible, such a great time with friends, true friends. True community! We will miss the friendships that God has brought our way, all the while we stand amazed at the support we have received from the community at Overflow.
Today was our last service at Celebration. Due to a fever I didn't play, but I made it to the 9:00 service to hear Kellie sing a solo. It was amazing. We will look back on these days with great joy!
Thursday night we plan on leaving Jacksonville. Its going to be a busy couple of days.

Got a call from the realtor today letting us know that the folks who put an offer on the house didn't want to counteroffer after we went back to them with our changes yesterday. We keep praying that God will send the right buyer. I believe that God will work everything out, all in his timing. Things are rapidly winding down around here and February 27th is fast approaching.

An excerpt from
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Letters are written from Screwtape, to his nephew Wormwood, giving advice on how to develop as an "angel" of the Devil.
"Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy's (God's) will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys."
It encourages me to stay on the path that God has called us to. To push on, even when we don't want to, even when we question God's goodness and His faithfullnes. Press on.

I just got another 2 calls to show the house. We keep praying that a buyer will come soon!!! To see the listing, go
here. We know that the house will sell in time and that everything will go smooth as we head north to the D.C. area. The excitement continues to grow as March 1 approaches.
Dad, Pete and I just returned from a great trip to Tampa! Monday morning I drove to Orlando. Then dad and I drove to the airport to pick up Pete. He was waiting as we pulled up to the curb. As we loaded his bags, we realized we had forgotten his lunch. Woops. Anyway, from there we headed to Tampa and found the Embassy Suites near U.S.F., checked in, found the room and headed out in search of some tennis courts. It was a beautiful day and we found the Varsity courts on U.S.F. We were just waiting to get kicked off, I don't think we were supposed to be there. But we played on. It was beautiful!
The next morning we headed to Busch Gardens for a great day of rollercoasters, shows and some unique animals. It was really great! What an awesome Christmas present, Thanks mom!
Following our Busch Gardens excursion, we headed to Tampa Brewing Company for dinner and some Ale samples. It was our first trip to Ybor City, what an experience. I don't think we'll forget it. The Ale was great, as was the food and the cigars. We made it back to the hotel in time for 24.
Wednesday morning, we headed out at 6:00 and hit up Einstein Bagels for some breakfast and brew. A great way to end our stay.
That's all for now.
