Classical Chorus Gym

Eli got his first toy today. After doing extensive research on the best toys for Eli's age, AJ and I decided to get the Fisher-Price Classical Chorus Gym. So today I went to Babies R US and purchased this while Eli was sleeping in the shopping cart with little knowledge of the fact that he was getting his very first toy.

We didn't get Eli any toys because we felt we needed the absolute essentials to having a baby first and after we got those things there was little left for purchasing toys. We also didn't register for toys for the same reason. But now Eli is at the age where he is really awake and alert and curious to learn and try new things. It was evident he was ready for a toy that would spark his senses even more.

We didn't just want to waste our money on a toy that he'd grow out of or wouldn't be interested in for long, so we did research and read a lot of reviews about a lot of different toys. This toy received the best reviews over all and it can be played with during 3 stages: infants (lying on back), 5 months+ (sitting up), and 9 months+ (standing/walking). I liked how long this toy was useful, it is so versatile. It was also a steal for only $34.99, even our budget could afford this toy. With it receiving so many great accolades from so many moms, we decided to give it a try.

The results:

Eli absolutely loved it!! He had a ball of a time playing with it. I put it down by his feet first and he just kicked and kicked and then kicked even harder getting so excited with each kick in the correct spot rewarding him with music and lights. He was squealing with excitement and if he had the ability to smile already then I am sure he would have been (we're still working on that skill, but I know it is going to be any day now.) Then I moved the toy up by his arms and head and he was batting away at the toys. He was getting so excited from the music and light reward that he was breathing heavy and moving every part of his body to try to keep the rewards going. I have never seen him so active or excited. It was so much fun for me to watch and I know so much fun for him to play with as well.

I am so excited to watch Eli continue to learn and play with his new toy. It was so worth the money and I am so glad he has something fun to do now. I felt like he was getting bored because he really didn't have anything fun and entertaining to play with- but now this isn't so anymore. It will be fun for Christmas to come so we can introduce even more toys to him. Toys are so good because while he thinks he is only playing he is really learning so much about his body's capabilities and the world around him. It is such a good thing for his development. AJ and I are committed to doing all we can to foster good learning and development for Mr. Eli Jones.

:) It was a good day today.
